My relationship with Sagar is the best thing in my life: Ranjani
Ranjani says she is ecstatic about taking their relationship to the next level

Amid accusations from the Opposition regarding police inaction and political pressure, Tripura Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan stated on Monday that crime rates in the state are at their lowest in the past decade.

Ranjan's remarks came in response to recent incidents of ethnic and communal violence reported in areas such as Gandatwisa in Dhalai district, Jirania in West Tripura district, and Kadamtala and Pekucherra in North Tripura district over the past few months. CPI(M) leader Jitendra Choudhary and other senior Congress figures criticized the police for failing to maintain their reputation and called for prompt actions to uphold law and order.

Speaking to reporters during a Police Commemoration Day event in Agartala, Ranjan dismissed the allegations of police bias and inaction as part of a coordinated effort by certain groups to undermine the image of the Tripura Police and spread misinformation. He emphasized the department's strong commitment to maintaining law and order, stating that Chief Minister Manik Saha has granted them the authority to act decisively against offenders. "While some vested interests are attempting to create a narrative of declining law and order, the data over the last ten years clearly indicates that crime rates in all major categories are at their lowest this year," he noted.

Regarding the recent Lok Sabha elections and various festivals, the Tripura DGP highlighted that all events proceeded peacefully, and any attempts to incite unrest were promptly dealt with. He also mentioned the deployment of senior officers and additional security personnel to ensure public safety.

Anurag Dhyankar, former director general of Intelligence, who attended the event with Ranjan, also affirmed the state police’s commitment to ensuring the safety of the public. The Tripura Police commemorated Police Commemoration Day on Monday to honor those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
